Groff Earns All-America Honors

Lexi Groff ’24, who competed this past year in the high jump and 4 X 100 relay with the Moravian University women’s outdoor track & field team, earned All-America honors for the high jump at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on May 24 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Groff cleared 1.68 meters (5′6″) on her first attempt, which tied her PR as well as the Landmark Conference and Moravian school record she set earlier this season. Groff missed all three of her chances at 1.71 meters (5′7.25″) to finish in a tie for fifth place.

Silberman Makes All-America Second Team

Moravian University catcher Marcie Silberman ’26 has been honored with a spot on the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-America Second Team.

Silberman is the ninth Greyhound student-athlete to receive All-America honors and the third catcher to be selected as an All-American. “She had an unbelievable offensive year, highlighted with 16 home runs, 15 doubles, and 52 RBIs in 41 games,” says second-year head coach Josh Baltz ’08. “She had a fantastic year behind the plate, limiting opponents’ running game and receiving well.”

This spring, Silberman was selected to the Landmark Conference All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive year. She is also a two-time NFCA All-Region V Honoree, making the First Team in 2024 and the Second Team in 2023.

The women’s basketball program raised $17,030 in February for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund Play4Kay to lead NCAA Division III for the 16th straight year.

The softball squad won its second straight and 11th overall Landmark Conference title this spring. The Greyhounds made their 20th appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament, hosting a regional for the first time at Blue & Grey Field May 16–18.

The women’s tennis team finished its season at 15–5 to reach the Landmark Conference Tournament Championship match for the fifth straight year.

The men’s tennis program set a school record for victories with 17, as the team went 17–5 and competed in the Landmark Conference Tournament Semifinals.

The women’s lacrosse squad made the Landmark Conference Tournament for the sixth straight season, with Jackie Salvatore ’25 scoring a school record 109 points this spring and being named to the IWLCA All-Region First Team and Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
